Uptick Demonstration

Name: r10d5

Radix: 10

Digits: 5

Explanation

Uptick shows you the current time of day. Time in Uptick looks different because it's not counting up to 12 or 24 hours. By default, it counts up to 100,000 ticks.

Uptick uses Uniform Place-value Time, so it represents the time of day as a simple place-value number, a number of ticks.

By default, there are 100,000 ticks in a day and each tick lasts 0.864 seconds. I call this pattern r10d5 since it uses a radix of 10 and represents all whole-number times of the day with 5 digits.

You can use the sliders to change the clock's configuration. Hide this explanation by clicking the Show/Hide Explanation button.
